Operating Model*

The Balkan Panorama Film Distribution Network operates as a cultural screening platform designed to facilitate the circulation of selected films within the territory of the Republic of Türkiye.

Film Selection

Films included in the network are primarily selected from works previously screened at the *Balkan Panorama Film Festival* that have demonstrated notable artistic merit, critical recognition, or audience engagement.

The network includes feature-length fiction, documentary, and animated films, as well as short films in the same categories.

The selection process is conducted by the festival’s artistic management in consultation with the Festival Director and the Programming Board.

Rights and Licensing

Screening rights in Türkiye are coordinated through direct communication with producers, sales agents, or official rights holders.

The network operates under a flexible licensing model in which each screening request is evaluated individually. Screenings are organized only after obtaining explicit approval from the relevant rights holder.

Screening Requests

If an institution in Türkiye (cinemas, universities, cultural centers, festivals, or film societies) wishes to screen a film included in the network, the following procedure applies:

  1. The request is communicated to the relevant rights holder.
  2. Screening conditions and fees are defined and shared.
  3. The screening is organized only upon official approval.

Promotional Screenings

The festival may organize up to two promotional screenings without a screening fee in order to support the visibility of Balkan cinema. These screenings are strictly non-commercial.

Screening Format

All screenings are conducted using secure digital copies provided by rights holders.

The festival ensures the secure handling, storage, and controlled use of all materials.

Scope of Activities

All activities within the network are limited exclusively to the territory of the Republic of Türkiye.

The initiative is designed as a cultural circulation platform aimed at strengthening the visibility of Balkan cinema while creating new screening opportunities for filmmakers and producers.
